Our Services

We help rural healthcare projects actually happen.

We work with rural healthcare organizations, rural communities, and the foundations that support them — exclusively. And what we do is a process: idea → designed project → real budget → funder framing → funded reality. Writing the grant is part of that process; but ensuring the grant is a benefit to your organization, sustainable, and fundable comprises the bulk of our work.

Why Organizations Choose Us

The work happens inside your administrative team — fluent in the language of CEOs, CFOs, CNOs, and boards, current on your strategy and your numbers, turning priorities into funded reality.

And the model works — the proof is retention: the clients who hired us in 2007 are still clients today. All client work is led and delivered personally by Nick McLeod. When you call, you get the principal — not an account manager, not a junior analyst handed your file.

How an Engagement Starts

Every engagement begins the same way, whatever the service: a free, honest conversation about what you're trying to accomplish — and if we're a fit, a written scope and fee before any work begins. From there we move at your pace, but we arrive ready to work: a structured kickoff with your team, the groundwork handled in the first weeks, and real deliverables early — not a long ramp-up. And whichever door you come through, the work is led and delivered personally by the principal. Every time.

Capital & Fundraising Campaigns

Every campaign begins with feasibility: an honest answer on whether the goal is raisable before anything goes public. Then we build the complete infrastructure — case for support, donor materials, gift range and sequencing, creative giving vehicles from pledges to community investment loans — and prepare your people to make the asks, because donors give to the hospital they love, not to a consultant. Our campaign fees are never a percentage of what's raised.

CHNA, Implementation Strategy & CHIP

Every three years, the IRS requires your hospital to study its community. Typically it's treated as a checkbox; we build yours as the most strategically useful document you own — real primary data including a staff survey almost no one else does, an honest evaluation of your last strategy, and priorities your board can defend. Then it feeds your grant applications and planning for three years. Fixed fee, one price, board-ready.

Grant Administration & Technical Assistance

The award letter isn't the finish line; it's the starting gun. We keep awards compliant, documented, and audit-ready — procurement reviewed before money moves, budgets reconciled, every report filed right — either turnkey, or by building your infrastructure and training your own staff to run it, which is what we recommend. In 19 years, no organization under our administration has had a grant-related audit finding.

Grant Development & Funding Strategy

Projects built from idea to funded reality.  Our flagship. We build the project before we ever write the grant — the case for need, the budget, the sustainability argument — then structure funding from every appropriate direction: grants, philanthropy, tax credits, loans, Congressionally Directed Spending, and more. Most clients work with us on annual retainer, where we function as part of your team and bring you opportunities you didn't know existed. More than $25 million secured since 2007 — and never a fee based on a percentage of your award.

How Our Fees Work

Every service has one clear structure — annual retainers for grant development, fixed fees for defined projects like the CHNA, flat engagement pricing for administration — each shaped by how the work actually unfolds, priced with rural budgets in mind, and quoted before anything begins. Grant fees are never a percentage of your award, and the first conversation is always free. See exactly how each service is priced.

Grant Training & Workshops

Two decades of funded-project experience, delivered to your whole team: half-day workshops, full-day intensives, organization training series, and conference sessions for associations. Grants foundations, grant management and compliance, and AI-augmented grant development — the responsible middle path most organizations are missing. Taught by the principal, from the real files, with materials your team keeps.

Healthcare Strategy & Advisory

Behind every capital application we develop sits a full business case: demand, volumes, financials, sustainability. We build the same analysis for the decisions you're weighing before any application exists — a service line question, a program's viability, a board that needs preparing — quoted per engagement, honest either way the numbers point.

Foundation Development & Stewardship

Hospital foundations do work that's instrumental to their communities, often with volunteer boards and little written infrastructure. We build it: gift acceptance policies, restricted fund and donor intent management, governance, federal grant readiness, and full endowment architecture — phased at your board's pace, with standing stewardship counsel after the build. Every gift accepted with confidence, every donor's intent honored.

Kansas RHTP Support

The Rural Health Transformation Program is funding Kansas rural healthcare at a scale never seen before — capital, regional partnerships, transport, technology, and quality programs, each with its own rules and deadlines. We work both sides: applications built to win, and award administration built to survive an audit. RHTP and REH/CAP awards for Kansas hospitals are already on our Results page — and when the next round opens, retainer clients hear about it from us first.

How Fees Are Structured

Every service carries one clear structure — quoted up front, agreed in writing, and priced with rural budgets in mind. Grant fees are never a percentage of your award, and you'll know exactly what an engagement costs before any work begins. The full breakdown, service by service, is one click away.

Nick is very thorough, thinks of great questions, anticipates questions from grant sources, writes skillfully, and is a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him and his services to anyone."
